Military Superannuation
The Government will create a new accumulation superannuation scheme for new members of the Australian Defence Force. There will be no change for existing ADF members, however they may elect to be covered under the new arrangements.
Under the new arrangements members will be paid superannuation at 15.4%, to their chosen super fund. Increasing to 18% for any period where they serve in war-like operations.
Defence force members should always be aware of the options available to them weighing the pros and cons for all types of superannuation can have large financial outcomes in the future.
